Okay, so keeping up with this newsletter has not really been my thing. I still intend it to be, but, well, life happens and my energies have been directed more at writing books (and screenplays…shhh), and spending time with my family, and this newsletter has suffered.
BUT I have a new book out on September 3rd!
It’s a PICTURE BOOK with the inimitable Paul O. Zelinksy, a genius and a mensch.
The book is called STILL LIFE and you can get it from your favorite local independent bookseller or order it via the links on this page.
Pre-orders are super helpful to authors!
You can also request it from your local library.
Kirkus gave it a star!
And THE Brian Selznick said this about it:
“London and Zelinsky have created something unendingly fun but also deeply meaningful: Art takes on a life of its own, no matter how much the artist thinks the work can be controlled!”
—Brian Selznick, Caldecott Medal–winning author of The Invention of Hugo Cabret
So that’s all pretty cool.
I’ll be busy traveling to promote it for the next two months, and maybe I’ll see you on the road!

See you out there!
Dear Alex London,
Even though I am a New Yorker, I will not be in town for your appearance at Books of Wonder, certainly, like you, one of the wonders of the book world. I volunteer at the Maverick Concerts up in Woodstock, NY and alas for me, your date and their last concert conflicts. I so wanted to congratulate you on your latest venture, which I know my Kindergarteners and First Graders of the Bronx will love. Also, I am beyond thrilled to see your magnificent PROXY back in the spotlight. That novel, you, and its sequel, GUARDIAN, had and continue to have an enormous impact on me, inspiring me to pursue writing. Years later, my agent is Stephen Fraser and my first novel, a YA fantasy ... did not sell. Not yet! A second novel is now finished, an adult historical fiction but your influence lives with me still. How very much I enjoyed the unfolding of your SKYBOUND trilogy! The very best of continued success with all your work. Sincerely and with infinite respect, Daniel Tamulonis
